Calmmind Spiritual quotes

Calm Mind Spiritual quotes :

The path of tranquility is not separate from the path of insight, since the former is concentration on the mind, which then becomes the object of investigation for the latter.

Calmmind quotes : 27th July 2011

Without tranquility (calm abiding) mind flows, like water, and cannot settle in tranquil absorption. Such a mind cannot attain a true understanding of its inherent purity. Insight devoid of tranquility (calm abiding) is unstable like a butter lamp in the wind, and as such it cannot produce a clear perception of original awareness.

Calmmind quotes :26th July 2011

Leadership is not an affair of the head. Leadership is an affair of the heart.
Jack Welch ever said: "You have no right to be a leader is you don't have it in your soul to build others."
A former U.S. Army Major General John H. Stanford replied when asked about leadership:When anyone asks me that question, I tell them I have the secret to success in life. The secret to success is to stay in love. Staying in love gives you the fire to ignite other people, to see inside other people, to have greater desire to get things... done than other people. A person who is not in love doesn't really feel the kind of excitement that helps them to get ahead and to lead others and to achieve. I don't know any other fire, any other thing in life that is more exhilarating and is more positive a feeling than love is.

Calmmind quotes : 24th July 2011

If we cultivate our mind with the seeds of happiness, loving kindness, compassion, and reconciliation every day, then those qualities will be able to manifest in us. Such a practice is right effort nourished by joy and it will lead us to optimal mental health.

Calmmind quotes : 23rd, July 2011

Just as any feats to be performed by physical strength are performed by depending on the earth, standing on the earth, and that is how they perform, so too, it is by depending on virtue and the joy resulting from the unconditioned giving i.e. in terms of thoughts, speech and action, standing on virtue and the joy of unconditioned giving, that we develop the right MEDITATION PATH, makes much of the right MEDITATION PATH. In this way we suprress the defiled hindrances that oppose our progress in mental health and intellectuality, we cut off our bad habitual tendencies, and at the moment of fruition of this MEDITATION practice, we achieve tranquilization and escape from all the stresses, emotion and unhealthy habits we used to have. His or her mental state as such is always filled with zeal, resolved with faith, and his cognizance is quite steady.

Calmmind quotes : 22nd, July 2011

Our minds are like writing in stone, writing in sand, and writing in water. Minds that are like writing in stone are deeply ingrained and difficult to remove; those that are like writing in sand can be removed more easily; those that are like writing in water disappear naturally almost as soon as they arise. At present, our deluded minds are like writing in stone and our virtuous minds are like writing in water. We should try to reverse this situation. It is difficult to stop delusions completely but if we conscientiously apply their opponents we can gradually weaken them so that they are no longer engraved in our mind like writing in stone. At first they will become like writing in sand, which can be removed with little effort, and then gradually as their strength continues to diminish they will become like writing in water. Eventually they will disappear altogether --- This is the ESSENCE OF MEDITATION.

Calmmind quotes :19th July 2011

Persistency in our meditation efforts:
Scientists have discovered a lawa that quantitative change bcomes qualitative at a certain stage. For example, if you heat water it evaporates only when the heat is one hundred degrees, never before it. At ninety degrees it may be hot, but not evaporating. At ninety-nine degree it is very hot, but not evaporating. And just one degree more, at one hundred degrees, and a sudden jump, a leap, and the water starts moving. Water is visible, vapor becomes invisible. Water goes downwards; vapor goes upwards. When energy moves downwards, sex is very visible. Awareness is heat. That fire of awareness heats your sexual energy: this is the inner alchemy - and energy starts going upwards, into the frontiers of Truth.

Calmmind quotes : 17th July 2011

Once we say 'mine' we are making ourselves separate from the whole. Now this separation will grow, and each step will take you farther away from the reality, the center, the truth. Once the 'mine' enters then you are a competitor with everybody. Once the 'mine' enters, you life will be a life of competition, struggle, conflict, violence, aggresion. The next step of 'mine' is 'me'. When you have something to claim as yours, suddenly through that claim arises the idea that now you are the center of your possessions. The possessions become your territory, and through those  possessions arises a new idea: 'me'. Once you are settled with 'me', you can see clearly that you have a boundary, and those who are outside the boundary are 'you'. The other becomes clear; now things start falling apart.

Calmmind quotes : 17th July 2011

We are in an emotional economy, and every interaction has an emotional subtext. Along with whatever else we are doing, we can make each other feel a little better, or even a lot better, or a little worse.

Calmmind quotes : 16th July 2011

The ego is false. If you live according to the false ego, your whole life will remain false. If you live without the ego your whole life will have the flavor of reality, truth and authenticity.

Calmmind quotes : 16th July 2011

Through meditation we become able to centralize the deluded "I". When we have one "I", then it can be "destroyed". When we have many "Is", they cannot be destroyed. When our energy has become one and is centered, it can be killed, it can be completely destroyed. When it is a crowd it is difficult to destroy it.

Calmmind quotes :16th July 2011

Meditating on the Truth of Kama-Raga on its climax :

Orgasm is the biggest non-chemical blast of dopamine available to us. A Dutch scientist scanned the brains of people having orgasm. He said they resembled scans of heroin rushes. He saw visions of an "orgasm pill" and lots of money. We saw visions of one of the most addictive substa...nce ever produced.

Orgasms and addictive substances or behaviors have two things in common. They both produce an initial pleasurable experience, and both are followed by a "hangover." This is a program of neurochemical fluctuations, triggered by orgasm, which appears to continue for a week or two. The sexual satiation (post-orgasm) hangover is innate, or what we have always experienced. That's one reason many never notice its effects - they have always been there. It can be such a subtle part of you that you do not connect the dots, unless you switch to making love without it for several weeks, and then go back to sex with orgasm."What goes up must come down." It’s simple biology; body systems must return to balance, or homeostasis. In this case it's your dopamine (or sensitivity to dopamine) rising and falling. That can play around with your mood and, most importantly for your love life, the way in which you perceive, and treat, your partner. Perception is the key word, and it may change days after the event.
Calmmind quotes : 16th July 2011

To reduce our craving (name) will reduce our dopamine (form) in our neuro systems.
Calmmind quotes : 16th July 2011

Calm Mind is the quintessence of wisdom, and wisdom is the activity of calm mind.

Calmmind quotes : 16th July 2011

When ignorant people have ideas they merely talk about them, but wise men keep them with their own minds and put them into practice (that is, the wise men meditate on them)

Calmmind quotes : 16th July 2011

Some say change your thought and your life will follow. But also someone else say change your life and your thoughts will follow. That is, our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are interrelated.

Calmmind quotes :16th July 2011

We need to put a very high value on simplicity. This seems simple enough. In fact very few people put a high value on simplicity. They put some value on simplicity but usually this is a second-order value.

Calmmind quotes :16th July 2011

The Buddha talked about mind framing as a major stumbling block for our suffering. This is also obvious in the business. The roles that people occupy influence the way that problems are seen, or framed. For example, when profits fell in one cosmetic products organization in the early 1980s, key managers were asked to investigate and report on the causes. The marketing managers identified a lack of advertising and promotional support as the key problem. Manufacturing and distribution managers blamed thje marketing group for inaccurate sales forecasting and lack of customer knowledge. nWhile the finance department blamed budget overruns by all departments. Finally, the legal department believed that a lack of new franchising and licensing agreements meant that the organization lacked new products. Thus the best options may be overlooked.

Calmmind quotes :16th July 2011

Most meditators act or behave as self-fulfilling prophecy or self-confirming bias. Similarly, as strategic decision makers, we are most likely, under delusion, to seek confirming evidence that our favored strategy is still working well and that is aligned with the business environment. Inevitably, we do not place ourselves in situations we can test the quality of our judgment.

So we can see clearly that poor framing and deluded framing may lead managers to solve the wrong problem, because they have created a framework for a decision with little thought. Instead we only seek information that will confirm the quality of our predictions and knowledge. In many cases we even escalate our commitment to our ideology, principle and strategies that were wrong in the first place. At Coca-Cola, the heated disputes and work that had gone into the creation and launch of New Coke was hard for their executives to write off. The relaunch of old-formula Coke only came after intense efforts to make New Coke a success had failed.
Calmmind quotes :16th July 2011

We should make use of this limited life ('s body, speech and mind) to gain unlimited wisdom life.
Calmmind quotes : 15th July 2011

Habit (from clinging that nurtures and strengthens our habitual views, thoughts, mental quality, emotion and behavior) is the leadership of our behavior and views.
Calmmind quotes :15th July 2011

Meditation as Holistic Medicine for the Body-Mind.
Calmmind quotes :14th July 2011

When come go to school, we are told to use our brain. But, when we come to spiritual world, we are told to have only blind faith. This is a mistake. This is where the mistake on meditation lies. Unfortunately!
Calmmind quotes :13th July 2011

Meritorious acts are indeed important. But if we can cultivate and develop to transcend meritorious desire and accumulation, then our heart is unboundedly expanded to merge with the wholeness, manifested as ocean without waves.
Calmmind quotes :12th July 2011

Always appreciate of others. Have joy of appreciation out of their contribution. This joy gradually penetrates into our heart, rooting up jeolousy behavior and seeds right within, so we have wide open space to accept more useful information, develop and cultivate knowledge and wisdom.
Calmmind quotes :11th July 2011

Calmmind quotes :10th July 2011

Calmmind quotes :9th July 2011

Calmmind quotes : 8th July 2011

One spiritual, mental quality and behavior reflects the other spiritual, mental quality and behavior. Everyone is interrelated, which is clearly illustrated in the concurrent working of the Noble Eightfold Path: Right View, Right Thought, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness and Right Concentration !

Watch the movement of desire - it is very subtle - and you will be able to see two things. One is that desire by its very nature is unfulfillable. And second, the moment you understand that desire is unfulfillable, desire disappears and you are left desireless. However, desire is an opportunity to understand the functioning of our mind.
6th July 2011
We cannot think about reality. There is no way to think about it. All thinking is borrowed. No thinking is original. All thinking is repetitive. All thinking is mechanical. We can go on chewing and re-chewng the same thing and again and again, but nothing new ever arises out of thinking. Thinking is old, rotten. It is a junkyard. The ...only way to know reality is to be real. Mind makes us unreal. Mind makes us too much like thoughts - mindstuff, words, concepts, theories, philosophies, doctrines, scriptures, isms. Mind does not give us the real thing. Mind gies us only reflections - and those reflections are also distorted. Just see. Just be.

We ask because there is a wave in our heart. By clarifying with the right view, we eliminate our doubts, and thus we extinguish the wave. Thus, every question and answer is meditation subject and object, which is the necessary ingredient for success in meditation. The answers may be temporarily guided by a meditation facilitator or teacher, but the meditators must ensure they also have the similar (types of) answers.

In cultivating the Way, we should not seek and grasp externally; instead, we should probe within to see whether our mind has given rise to vexations. We should constantly harbor a compassionate mind, be lenient toward others, yet be self-disciplined, frequently reflect upon and examine ourselves.

Envy or jealousy is a deluded mental factor that feels displeasure when observing others' enjoyments, good qualities, or good fortune. Jealousy is the source of much anger, discontent, and disharmony. It feels like a thorn in the heart. When we are jealous our mind (heart) becomes narrow and obsessive, making it difficult for us to th...ink of anything else or to see the situation from the other's point of view. Jealousy is entirely futile because neither does it cause the other person's fortune or good qualities to decline, nor does it increase our own, all it does is to rob us of our own peace and happiness.

Our heart is like a factory which needs stringent quality control and environmental friendliness view to enable smooth operations and thus to produce good products, without the waste water and polluted air. As such, everyone wants to get close to these products.

Every test in our life makes us bitter or better, Every problem comes to make us or break us, Choice is ours whether we become victim or victorious.10th May 2011

Every encounter in our lives is a new golden opportunity for us as a stepping stone to success. Thus failure, as one of our encounters, helps us to become awakening, awareful and wise. Failure helps us to become more awake than success. Success helps us to fall asleep, sometimes without our consciousness.
9th May 2011

Mind is passionate in nature like a magnet being attracted to the like and pulled away from the dislikes or remain in neutrality out of hesitation or no decision-making knowledge base. Calming the mind based on wisdom development and cultivation allows us to penetrate into nature all these uncontrollable pull-and-push-and-neutrality forces and take control of our selves.

Meditation is a lifelong educational journey that takes us into the core of human resource development sciences - transform our worldviews, our thoughts, our reactions to every encounter, our communication, our deeds and actions, our career and livelihood

“Meditation progress is like water evaporation. The water gradually heats up until 100 degree Celsius at the sea ground level and all of a sudden it evaporates and transforms into a different nature - vapor. Our mental quality will be totally transformed all of a sudden on certain aspect when we make persistency by following the right path.”

“If you dance, dance so totally that the dancer disappears and only the dance remains, and it will be a transformation. If we chant or recite a holy word, the wisdom springs up at the moment the chanter or reciter disappears but only the absorption into the word and its contents remain. From here meditation will take speedy progress.”

“Get out of the mind if you want to live. Get out of the mind if you want to live this moment. The mind cannot live in this moment, because first it has to decide, and the moment is lost in thinking. Dharma on right views: "And what is right view? Knowledge in terms of stress, knowledge in terms of the origination of stress, knowledge in terms of the cessation of stress, knowledge in terms of the way of practice leading to the cessation of stress: This is called right view.
18th April 2011

The human psychology and philosophical nature of behavior is well presented in the Dependent Origination, which can be realized in our heart when we pay mindful attention to our mental conditions. We will realize that our worldviews have been actively guiding our thoughts such as in the co...ntents and contexts of our action planning. When we present this concept in the language of the father of organizational learning (Argyris and Schon, 1974), then we will realize that the hidden active works of worldviews on our thoughts and deeds are the theories-in-use that sort of behavior like the grammar inseparable from and actively and quietly controlling the expressions of every sentence we compose. The thoughts that guide the deeds and speeches are only the first cause of karma or our actions, which can be stated to guide our behavior (i.e. the espoused theories that assert a theory or vision to be taken) but in reality one's habitual behavior is actively controlled by the hidden worldviews. We call these hidden worldviews the 'work of defilements or fetters' i.e. the wrong self-entity view, the precept defects, the suspicious nature of human mind, the hatred or anger nature of our heart, the sensual pleasures or desire nature of our heart, the form clinging, the formless clinging, the dharma restless characteristics, the conceit and the ignorance roots of all defilements.
However if one is trained in the right meditation, wrong views and thoughts will be exposed and corrected, and thus right actions, strategies and behaviors will be established. This is the double-loop learning-cum-development nature of meditation.

For example, you go to University and you are currently studying Economics 101. Before you know anything about it i.e. the supply and demand nature of the economics subject, you may not have mental calmness i.e. you are panic and worry, in particular when you have an attitude of being the best of the best. This ...is a type of suffering or stress. The cause of the suffering, on the surface, is obviously we lack of the knowledge on Economics. So what do you do to reduce that stress? You start by learning some right views on Econ 101 by reading, by listening to the teacher, by discussing with friends, and by digesting yourself (i.e. analysis and synthesis). Having established this Right View on Econ 101, you will have the Right Thought to challenge all Examination Questions and the actual application of the concepts. Now you are equipped with Right Thought, then how do you further develop your Knowledge on ECON 101 and also to apply it: you SPEAK up, you ACT on it (WALK the TALK) with the ECON 101 concepts i.e. you buy and sell stocks by looking into the ECON 101 concept on demand and supply. Having seen your DEEDS reaping the BENEFITS, you then put more RIGHT EFFORTS, and also, you FOCUS MINDFULLY by applying the ECON 101 concepts on other applications and your daily life activities.  What you just experienced is the NOBLE EIGHTFOLD PATH-based Meditation - Simple and Straight Forward.
