A Critical Review on Epistemology Applied to Human Resource Development (HRD) – Rediscovering an Ancient Approach to HRD
![]() |
AbstractThis article is a first attempt in the research to study the nature of progress and outcome in a special meditation. The research discovers the continuous loop nature of meditation similar to the double-loop learning-cum-development concept of professors Aygris and Schon. However the significant difference is in the direct focus on heart and mind - its state of reaction to phenomena and the direct-knowing capability and capacity. The meditation has proven to be transformative that influences worldviews and thoughts, verbal manifestations and deeds directly, by eradicating all the defilements that taint the purity of the heart. The meditation is also identified to contain ontological, epistemological and methodological driving forces behind the success in human resource development. This research only makes an attempt to create an initial bridge between the western and the eastern on philosophical level, and leave the practical aspects aside. - by Dr. CC Tan (2010). |
